Shana and Gregory’s homemade wedding with a vintage vibe
Nothing can be more memorable than a non-traditional and personalized homemade wedding fueled by love and celebrated with close friends and family.
Newlyweds Shana and Gregory Lowe didn’t have a particular theme in mind for theirs. All they knew was that they wanted it to reflect each of their personalities creatively. The lovely Shana (who is a joy to correspond with!) gamely told me about what was going on in their minds while planning their wedding.
My husband and I wanted our wedding to not resemble what a wedding is “supposed” to look like. We hoped our wedding would resemble God & who we are as individuals. By going with our gut, making our own environment with our own resources helped us in creating exactly the wedding we envisioned. We made an agreement that we wanted everyone, even workers to feel like they could express their creativity. Our wedding had a very homemade, and vintage feel to it. It helps when everyone can feel like they can be themselves.
We made it organized but non stressful!
Shana’s cute orange vegan flats were handmade by Etsy seller Hydraheart who managed to match her orange color motif perfectly!
When Shana first showed me her photos, I couldn’t help swooning over her gorgeous gown so I asked her about it:
My dress was handmade by a woman, Maisy. She lives in Sydney, Australia. She had the vision for the dress and then we just worked together until it was perfect. She would send me photos of different fabrics or ideas and then I’d choose which ones I loved. She actually used old vintage tableclothes for some of the attached embellishments.
Her Etsy shop is MaisyBrownReproRetro.
One of the best parts of our wedding was that people felt inspired and even our florist, photographer, and musicians felt like they could freely share their artistic gift!
Thank you Shana and Gregory for sharing the inspiring and lovely photos of your beautiful handmade vintage wedding with Poptastic Bride’s readers! Incorporating non-traditional elements and having close friends help out certainly made their wedding unique, personal and special.

So sweet! And I am absolutely in love with her shoes!
What a lovely wedding. I love the espadrills and the hints of red, as well as all the DIY elements of course. My favourite bit has to be the bride’s dress with the flowers on it. Love it!
