Jamie & Sam’s S’mores Picnic Lakeside Engagement
Here’s a super-sweet lakeside engagement that will make you go “awww” … and it’s just in time for pre-Valentine’s Day weekend too.
Jamie and Sam have been together since high school and are getting married in May of this year. Sam’s parents’ home has a small lake and a land with trails where the lovebirds have spent countless times hiking, fishing, and having bonfires and s’mores. Therefore it’s not surprising that they chose to hold their e-session on the property that holds so many memories for them.
I loved this shoot at first glance because it was so warm and personal and I thought Evoke Images beautifully captured the essence of their love.
Here’s what photographer Maranda Lambrich had to say about the shoot:
Crisp winter air, bonfire, s’mores, and a warm blanket to snuggle up next to your honey in! Sam and Jamie know how to do things right… They wanted their engagement session to reflect who they are and to be an accurate depiction of their personalities and the things they like to do together. The session took place on Sam’s childhood farm, where he and Jamie have spent countless summers fishing, exploring, and spending time with family. Together since high school, they had one of those easy comfortable relationships… Ripe with teasing and the smiles and laughs to go with it. My cheeks hurt by the end of the session…. Their love just warmed my heart and makes me smile!
Let’s meet the adorable couple. The pretty Jamie is here to tell us more about her and Sam:
Sam and I met over 9 years ago at this point back in high school. We dated all through high school and college. Sam went to Fontbonne University and I went to St. Louis College of Pharmacy. I will be finishing up my Pharm D. degree in May just before the wedding. I graduate on May 17th and the wedding is May 27th! Sam graduated from Fontbonne with a business degree in 2008, but since then has gone back to UMSL for teaching high school history. He is actually going to be doing his student teaching in China before the wedding from February to May, just before the wedding!
We chose to use the place for our photo session because we wanted something a little different and something outside. We spent a lot of time as a young couple going hiking and fishing together there and having bonfires, so we thought it would be really cool to incorporate it into the photos. Our favorite season is fall so the leaves and the day worked out perfectly for the shoot too!
So lovely. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Thank you Maranda of Evoke Images for sending this lovely e-shoot my way, and congratulations on your engagement, Jamie and Sam!
