Jessica & Jason’s Rustic Retro City Girl and Country Boy Engagement
If you’re looking for inspiration on what to do for your engagement portraits, you’ll be glad to know that I’ve been receiving A LOT of them lately — creative ones at that – so be ready to see more than the usual amount of sweet out-of-the-box shoots on this blog.
Today’s feature starring vintage cars, handsome horses, a barn, some sparkler action, and a beautiful city-girl-country-boy couple is one such inspiring and non-cookie-cutter e-session…
The gorgeous photos are courtesy of photographer Cindy Cano of Cynthia Rose Photography who’s here to tell us more about the session:
Jessica was certainly a bride after my own heart. We spent months chatting on Facebook, tossing ideas back and forth for the styled engagement session she was envisioning for herself and now-husband, Jason. Being a Maryland girl marrying a southern boy, Jessica wore a super sassy (and totally adorable) black dress with to-die-for glittery heels, while Jason was in a laidback, ultra-southern seersucker suit with his bow tie undone. The setting was SO southern and charming on a private residence in Sanford, NC with a replica antique store and our pick of vintage cars to use! Right across the street? A pretty red barn and of course… beautiful horses.
I love the vintage-y mood of the photos, and can’t you just feel the love between these two? The lovely Jessica is here to share more about the day:
Jason and I are one of the many “city girl meets country boy” stories that happen here in NC! I knew from before I was even engaged the type of engagement session I wanted, and hiring the perfect photographer for my wedding was a very high priority for me. I wanted something more than walking around at the beach, holding hands, kissing, etc. I wanted props and a unique setting and I think we were able to achieve both. The photoshoot actually takes place at two locations, right across the street from one another. The first place is actually Jason’s boss’s house (the ones with the barn / horses) and the other is a friend’s of Jason’s house, (the old store, vintage cars). I wanted to it to be a bit retro and fancy since our wedding was super playful and light. It was so much fun and we were so lucky to have the best to photographers in NC!
Thank you Cindy for sending this gorgeous engagement shoot my way, and congratulations to Jessica and Jason!
