Jenna & Jason’s Cozy and Intimate Rocker-Chic Wedding
Jenna and Jason kept their wedding really small and intimate, only immediate family and the closest of friends were invited which made the event all the more meaningful for them. They did almost everything themselves (as evidenced by the tiny vendor list at the bottom of the page!) and so every single detail had a personal touch, from Jenna’s dress created from her mom’s own wedding gown to the cake lovingly made by her sister.
The wedding was a simple and cozy celebration of their love which is really what a wedding should be all about right?
With Jason being a musician, the couple has an undeniable rock and roll style which Nashville photographer Matt Andrews perfectly captured in these beautiful photos that showcase the bond between the lovebirds. Here’s what he had to say about the wedding:
Jason first met Jenna while he was working as a barista and worked up the nerve to ask her out but the coffee shop was just a side job for Jason. He is the singer for a band called “Reform the Resistance” and they have a lot of momentum. They have been signed and currently have a few videos playing on MTV.com. The couple’s style really shone through when they decided to have a small, intimate wedding in Franklin, Tennessee and The Red House turned out to be the perfect venue. The Red House’s walls are adorned with gold records and concert memorabilia and since music is a theme in their lives it made sense to make it a theme at their wedding. Jenna’s mom made her dress and even used vintage lingerie for materials and the end result was stunning and unique. The vibrant red walls and abundant window light at the Red House made for some gorgeous photos.
Liking how laid-back and relaxed everything is so far? Now it’s time to meet the beautiful pair. As mentioned above, Jason is a musician from Phoenix, AZ and Jenna works in the cosmetic industry and is from Seattle, WA. The two met at Starbucks where Jenna was a regular and Jason was a barista at the time. Lucky for us, Jenna’s here to share more about their special day:
Our goal for our wedding was to keep it really small and intimate. We wanted to have a kind of “living room” atmosphere during the ceremony so we had lots of comfy chairs and couches for our guests to sit in instead of traditional seating. We wanted the vibe of the wedding to be more like a party/celebration instead of a traditional wedding. We chose to have only immediate family and closest friends there, and we are so glad we made that decision. There was such a feeling of love there that night and it was great to know everyone there was truly happy to celebrate this moment with us.
The first look…
Would you believe that Jenna’s pretty dress was made by her mom with the skirt from her own wedding gown? The top was found vintage and then hand-dyed light blush with Tazo’s Passion Tea which is a subtle nod to how the two met. Awesome!
How cute is this shot?
I just love the comfy living room atmosphere they created for their ceremony. Here’s Jenna to share some more details with us:
We chose to have it at the Red House which is an old restored house in historic downtown Franklin, TN. The inside was music themed (records on the wall, framed band posters up) which fit well with our vibe.
We didn’t have any flowers, and instead all the tables were covered in candles and we ate dinner in candlelight. Really, the entire wedding felt so personal because it was so small and intimate!
Jenna’s sister made their cake, a simple circle cake covered in Jenna’s favorite shredded white chocolate and topped with blush roses that matched her bouquet.
A few words of advice from the couple:
Be true to yourself and make sure the wedding is something YOU truly want. Because at the end of the day, your experience of your wedding is much more important than pleasing others and keeping it “traditional”.
Thank you Matt for sharing your lovely images with us, and congratulations to Jenna and Jason! Thank you for giving us a peek into your special day!
