Bry & Rick’s Industrial Love Engagement

The original location for Bry & Rick’s e-session was inaccessible on the day of their shoot. Bummer, right? But they didn’t let that get them down. Instead, they went around and eventually found an empty industrial area — an unlikely venue that, little did they know would make for such bold, interesting and unique engagement photos!

How awesome is this shot? This entire shoot actually is what happens when a quick-thinking photographer with an eye for the extraordinary works together with an adventurous, forward-thinking couple. I loved the pictures the moment Candace Flynn of EYE Photography showed them to me and I’m happy I can finally share them with you today.

Candace intimates:

This shoot started out a bit rough. The location we were going to turned out to be a mud pit, thanks to the recent snow melt!  I texted Bry asking if she was alright with mud and she answered back “not really”. I then clued in she was probably wearing heels… haha. So we did a quick scout-out of the area and this is where we ended up. It turned out beautifully — thanks to this couple being so open-minded!  Aren’t they stunning together?

Yes they are, don’t you agree? On to the eye candy:

Before we proceed, let’s meet the beautiful couple through their cute love story. Take it away, Bry!

We have known each other for quite some time, just as acquantences more so. Randomly Rick started to show a little bit of interest and brought me my favorite Vanilla Bean Latte to my work. Having a 14-year age difference, I was a little weirded out. We texted here and there, just light and fluffy stuff, then before I knew it, he is driving across the city to go for 15-minute walks by the river with me as often as possible. Because of our age difference, he was still a little reserved and wanted to give me space to be my age and not hold me back from anything. That frustrated me like crazy, because I had gotten attached and really believed I would be his “perfect person”. Because of my frustration and impatiance, I backed off and continued to live life without him.

Having mutual friends, we were around each other a bit, never really talking, but still feeling an aggravating connection. About 2 years later, there he was at my work again… swooning me in with a Starbucks (haha). It didn’t take long! We dated for the second round just over a year and got engaged on his birthday January 14 at the Fairmont Hotel in Banff.

We both knew we were always meant for each other and here we are, planning our life together and its the BEST ever.

As for the industrial love shoot… we wanted something really artsy and unique because we love modern art. And Candace made our  shoot just that, ART!
