Bethany & Eric’s UT College GameDay-inspired Engagement
Bethany and Eric are dedicated UT fans — in fact their upcoming wedding will take place at the beautiful University of Tennessee Gardens – so of course there just can’t be any other venue for their e-session pictures, right? The fun shoot I am sharing with you today shows the lovely pair wearing their team colors (and spirit!) around the campus and revisiting their favorite date places in Knoxville.
How cute are they in the orange and white skirt and shorts? This unique engagement feature is made possible through the talents of Marissa Bowers art * design * photo who had this to say about the shoot:
Picking a favorite university or team color is a quirky and creative way to let the couple’s interests shine through! Bethany and Eric’s engagement shoot hits the mark. Besides visiting the typical campus stadium sites, we hit funky downtown (student hangout) areas and a couple of the more classic administration buildings. The multiple locations around campus were right on cue for memorable photos to be cherished for decades to come.
Let’s get to know the lovely couple, in Bethany’s own words:
Eric and I both grew up in Knoxville, went to UT, and fell in love with the campus. We are both avid UT fans, like most of the people in East TN. We wanted to do a fun shoot that would capture “US” and we knew that Marissa was extremely qualified to do a different kind of shoot. We took her to all of our favorite places around Knoxville. We played in the water at Volunteer landing, snuck into the stadium where we love to cheer for our Vols, and went to Market Square where we love to have date night.
Photographer Marissa, who also designed the couple’s Save the Date, shares:
Bethany and Eric knew going into their college gameday inspired shoot that they also wanted their Save the Dates to look like a ticket and continue with their Volunteer orange theme.
Here’s a bonus! Bethany shares her and Eric’s love story:
We have known each other since we were kids. Eric has been flirting with me and trying to capture his dream girl, but I would do nothing more than enough to keep him interested. We remained close friends and would have an occasionally lunch date “just as friends” throughout college. Then one day we had a date that changed everything.
You can read the rest of their sweet story on their wedding website.
Thank you Marissa for sending in these beautiful images, and congratulations on your engagement Bethany & Eric! Good luck with your wedding planning!
