Certified Poptastic 26: Crocheted Wedding Ideas and Inspiration
Years before I started this blog I came across a fully crocheted wedding celebration online but unfortunately I can’t find the (geocities, gasp) site anymore. Everything in that wedding was crocheted, from the bride’s gown to the cake, and I do remember thinking back then that it seemed over the top. Done in moderation though, it can be a nice theme to work around. So in case you crafty folks would like to give the theme a try, I gathered some funky — but still pretty — crochet wedding inspiration for you.
This lovely tea-length dress was handmade by the bride! She used a reworked vintage dress in kelly green as the base and crocheted dozens of doilies which were then pieced together to form the overlay. LOVE. (Photo by Gia Canali. See her entire wedding on 100 Layer Cake)
No time to make your gown yourself? I found this minimalist figure-hugging crocheted dress on Lumirelle. The sleek, modern cut works great for a city wedding.
Another option is to keep your gown sleek and simple. Simply accessorize it with a sumptuous crocheted shawl or bolero like the above which I found on Lilithist and Lace Knits respectively.
You can also opt to get a crochet shawl in your theme’s color. This particular one makes a gorgeous “something blue”! From Noa Vider.
Slip into these dainty and comfy-looking crocheted ballet slippers — perfect for running around and greeting people (as well as dancing the night away) at your wedding. From GlorybyJeannieLee.
Your groom could wear a crocheted tie in a color that matches your motif. Tie from KoutureCrochet, photo by JC Williams.
This crocheted bowtie and boutonnierre are especially charming. From Table of Content Events. Photo by Amy Carroll.
This garland made up of little crocheted hearts is just darling, don’t you think? From annemariesbreiblog
These crocheted flowers aren’t only pretty, they’re also an eco-friendly option; Crochet bouquet & boutonniere from UrbanSiesta, photos by Mandi Whitten.
Top your real cake with sweet little crocheted love bird toppers from cherrytime.
