Sarah & Charles’ Sunny Afternoon on Bicycles Day After Session

If there was a reason you couldn’t take relaxed, artistic portraits during your wedding, a Day After shoot is a perfect excuse to wear the dress and suit again while doing things you normally can’t on the day itself.

This was the case for Sara & Charles wed during Hurricane Irene last year so it was impossible to take their dream wedding photos. They chose to have a “Day After” shoot a few months later under much, much better weather conditions — which is what you’ll be seeing here today.

Meet the adorable couple. We have Will Greene Photography to thank for the beautiful photos of their sunny late-afternoon session and here he is with the shoot’s backstory:

Living within a couple of hours from the coast, wedding season can correspond with hurricane season. Sara and Charles got married during hurricane Irene last summer. Needless to say, they didn’t get all of the stylized portraits that they had hoped for. They got in touch with me this past winter to schedule a chance to “re-shoot” their wedding portraits. Call it a post-wedding bridal, trash the dress, or what you will — we had a great time exploring this gorgeous property with a vintage chapel, summer camp style cabins, and BICYCLES!

Let’s find out more about the lovely couple. Over to you, Sarah!

We are both alumni from East Carolina University. Charles is a registered nurse and has worked on a hospitalist medicine floor for 4 years. I have been a registered nurse for 2 years and work in labor and delivery. Charles and I enjoy traveling, cooking together, gardening, fishing, and riding bikes. We have 2 children with 4 legs.. a malti-poo named Sophia and poodle named Charlie.

So cute! Love this shot.

Just how adorable are they? As for the setting, isn’t it gorgeous? Here’s Sarah with more behind-the-scenes details:

The retake location was chosen because of its attractive scenic area. Charles and I had chosen to retake photos in our wedding attire due to the lack of photos we were able to take on our wedding day because of hurricane Irene. We wanted an area that gave us a variety of settings for poses.. (chapel, bikes, water, pier).Even though our wedding day wasn’t perfect, our retake pictures were!

I completely agree! 🙂
