Angela & Andrew’s Milk Tea, Balloons, and Pinwheels Engagement
The title of this blog post alone should already give you an idea of how FUN this engagement session … but wait ’til you see the photos!
Meet cuties Angela and Andrew. Bay Area-based photographer Jeff Kuo of Jeffrey Kuo Photography tells me that the couple is passionate about many things but they are definitely most passionate about food — which is why they chose to center their shoot around one of their favorite treats. Here’s Jeff with the details:
Angela LOVES milk tea, and has to have it every chance she gets — oftentimes she’ll create opportunities or go out of her way to get one. She and Andrew were excited to share their love of milk tea, fun poses and stylish wardrobes to avoid the generic engagement session. We even ended up taking a milk tea break before moving on to the next wardrobe change!
I love playful e-sessions and I am currently obsessed with bubble milk tea myself (my hubby can totally vouch for it — I make him buy it for me on his way home all the time) so there was no way I wasn’t going to share this shoot with all of you!
Oooh… what to drink first?
Aren’t they the cutest? And guess what, the lovely Angela is here to tell us all about how she and Andrew got together:
I didn’t know it at the time but I became good friends with Andrew’s high school buddy Ming during college at Berkeley. One day after we all graduated I contacted Ming to see if he was interested in coming to an event that I was organizing. Ming came with two friends — one of them was Andrew. We snuck little glances at each other all night until he decided to muster up the courage to dance with me. After that came a whirlwind romance of hectic group dates, late night long distance phone calls, and much Skype-ing until Andrew eventually moved over to CA to continue our whimsically quirky life together.
Now it’s Andrew’s turn to tell us how he proposed to his sweetie:
Most people know that I love video games. I started this little pet project a couple of years ago but never got a chance to finish it. Angela has always been nothing but supportive of my passion and always encouraged me to make the game playable. So I did. Except that I added in a special “bonus level” just for her that exploded in hearts, romantic music, and a silly slideshow of our lives. While she was glued to the screen I knelt down and waited until she peeked back over at me. I gave her the ending to the game right then. “Will you marry me?”
Loving how fun this session is? Here’s the couple to tell us how they came up with the concept for it:
Our photographer and good friend Jeff helped us bring out our rambunctious natures in the e-shoot. A wide variety of milk tea flavors, colored balloons, and vibrant attire all came together to visually represent our personalities. We also didn’t want to take things too seriously so we made time for pictures of funny faces and silly situations. But that’s our life — no filters or putting on airs, and being open to all kinds of experiences as they come.
LOL, love this couple’s sense of humor! Thank you Jeff for sending your wonderful photos of this delightful e-session my way, and congratulations on your engagement Angela & Andrew! Have a great time planning your wedding!
