Brette & Jeremy’s Funky Purple DIY Wedding

Today’s featured couple Brette & Jeremy had a sweet & beautiful outdoor wedding filled with tons of fun purple handmade details! We have Kylene Gay of Forever Photography by Kylene to thank for the wonderful images on this page and here she is to tell us more about the day:

This wedding has tons of great details and a beautiful bride and groom! The bride did a lot of DIY projects including grape jelly jars for favors, a cute sign for the cake and a wreath with their initials. Instead of doing a traditional groom’s cake they opted for their caterer to “perform” a bananas foster display and then serve that to their guests along with the wedding cake. The bride arrived to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage and walked down the aisle in handmade shoes that said “I Do” on the backs.

I love the raw handcrafted quality of their details, and aren’t those vari-hued purple flower pomanders super funky?

Cute idea, “I Do” spelled in sparkly sequins at the backs of her purple flats

The purple paisley ties add a groovy touch too, don’t you think?

The lovely Brette is here to tell us more about herself and Jeremy:

We are die hard Seminole fans with season tickets every year.  We have two dogs, a poodle named Peanut and pitbull named Joc.  We met walking our dogs!  We love the water and cherishing laughs with our family and friends. Our one goal was for our wedding to be a huge party where everyone had fun and enjoyed celebrating that moment with us.

Brette is back to tell us about their details:

We had a lot of personalized touches that were unique to our wedding such as a wreath that I made for our reception doors, homemade grape jelly that said “Spread the Love” as our favors, our music during the ceremony was all non-traditional with us exiting down the aisle as man and wife to the FSU War Chant and much more.

Some advice from the newlyweds:

Something that I did, which I cherish, is I told myself that the day before and day of the wedding I was not going to let anything stress me and I was going to focus on having fun and enjoying the moment and those around me.  This allowed me to take in all of the memories and the day didn’t fly by as a blur as most brides have experienced.

  2. Being an attendee and personal friend of Brette’s I’m glad to see her hard work is still being recognized! Great job Kylene!

  3. I agree with Caroline. Brette invested so much time and effort into her wedding that I was still taken back by the beauty portrayed through Kylene’s photography. It is difficult to take note of all the intricacies throughout Brette and Jeremy’s wedding day.

  4. Thanks so much, Cynthia, for publishing Brette and Jeremy’s wedding! I thought it was a super fun one, so I’m glad other people will get to enjoy seeing it. :)
