Indie wedding music: I Wanna Love You (hifi) by Michael Rault
This week’s cool love song is the bouncy I Wanna Love You (hifi) by Canadian indie artist Michael Rault, a track off the Whirlpool EP that was released just last Tuesday, July 31. The 20-year-old Rault is becoming known for a fresh vintage sound that blends the sensibilities of the past with the present.
As for this tune, I think it perfectly showcases his love for classic 50s-style rock ‘n’ roll. The chorus itself – “I wanna love you, love you, kiss and hug you” (rinse & repeat x times) should be enough to let us know that the song is all about hugging, kissing and loving so is there any need to analyze the rest of the lyrics to see if the song is wedding-appropriate? I think not.
I love how poppy and happy this song is and I think it would make a great tune for your reception party entrance, or even your first dance. Give it a spin and see if the rhythmic hand claps and twangy guitar riffs don’t get you a shakin’ and jivin’.
What do you think? If you like it, you’re in for a treat because you can download it for FREE from Michael’s Facebook page. How awesome is that?
