A Rock and Roll Elopement Picnic Styled Shoot
San Diego-based Alyssa Lang of Hybrid Photography wanted to inspire lower budget or eloping brides that they can have a rockin’ wedding too so she came up with a “Rock and Roll Elopement Picnic” shoot along with a bunch of fellow talented vendors. The “bride and groom” are an actual couple in real life! Alyssa shares:
The bride does roller derby and the groom is in a band, so we thought it was perfect. We thought a tea length rockabilly style dress complete with a bright pink and a royal blue petticoat was the perfect dress, especially when topped with her leather jacket. Their “wedding cake” was a styled pyramid of hostess snack cakes, using a record as a cake plate and a pink drum as a base. The invitations had a distinct rock and roll vibe and the hot pink flowers matched her birdcage veil and hot pink fascinator perfectly. This was very inexpensive to put together, proving to the non-traditional couple that they can have an awesome, personal wedding even on a budget!
I love the concept of this shoot and couldn’t wait to post it as soon as Alyssa sent it to me. SO delighted to finally be able to showcase it here today so please enjoy!
Awesome idea: get two different looks at your wedding simply by changing your pettiskirt / crinoline!
Thank you so much Alyssa for sending this wonderful shoot my way! 🙂
