Courtney & Andrew’s Pretty and Personalized Detail-Rich Wedding
Happy Monday everyone! Apologies for not posting my supposedly “regular” blog updates like Certified Poptastic, Indie Wedding Music, and Personalize Your Wedding — there’s been a lot of real-life work lately (I’m actually a graphic designer by trade) but don’t worry, I’ll get to them again soon. Meanwhile, my inbox is bursting with super fun wedding submissions so you can expect to see a lot of funky inspiration coming your way — starting with the detail-rich wedding I’m sharing today!
Courtney and Andrew’s lovely wedding at the River Lodge in Fortuna was carefully planned with their loved ones in mind. They also wanted it to reflect themselves so they incorporated personal touches to make their guests feel special and appreciated. At first glance, what you’ll first notice (aside from the gorgeous twosome & the eye-catching coral and chocolate brown motif) is the presence of personal notes in the form of signage. Beautifully-designed messages in the ceremony & reception venue, as well on the guests’ plate setting “spoke” personally to each guest. Andrew’s niece & nephew marched up the aisle carrying a charming handmade sign (you’ll see it later), and Courtney even had a handkerchief embroidered with a special, loving note to her dad.
We have Maile Larsen of Larsen’s Photography (who also gave us this delightful hot pink & apple green wedding a while ago) to thank for the beautiful images, and here they are without further ado!
Such a sweet gesture!
How lovely is Courtney? She’s also here to tell us more about how she and Andrew met:
Andrew and I met through a friend. Andrew was working at a coffee shop in our hometown at the time and my friend introduced us over the counter when I came in for a coffee (anyone that knows me, knows coffee is my FAVORITE so of course this is how I met my husband!) Andrew was so distracted, the bagel he was cutting with a serrated knife accidently cut his finger rather than the bagel :/..oops! He looked down, and the bagel was a shade of red..yikes! After that, it was all history..6 years later we say I Do!
Aww, so adorable! I’m totally loving all the personal touches…
From this point on, Courtney and Andrew will be sharing how they made their wedding truly and uniquely their own:
Our wedding was centered around our personalities, that was our theme… our goal was to express who we are and what we value most. The most important aspect to us was making our family and friends feel special and appreciated. We value the relationships in our life more than anything.
Our wedding had tons of details…from the personalized handkerchief Courtney gave her Dad before walking down the aisle, to the “I DO” on the bottom of her shoes..the day was about capturing the reason for the day… and what it truly meant. The wedding could be described as a mix of an elegant, cute, soft, loving affair filled with smiling faces and non stop celebration!! The photos speak for themselves…
Little details such as our thank you cards at each plate, the fun photo booth and fun dancing, including Hava Nageila, made our day special. Our nieces and nephews pulling in the wagon was also a highlight. Our colors were coral and chocolate brown, a beautiful blend which truly popped in all of our photos.
Some parting insights from the lovely couple:
1. If you are a bride to be, do not sweat the small stuff. It will all work out and never forget through the at times stressful process WHY. Also, cherish each moment and take deep breaths, it goes fast.
2. Marriage is the biggest blessing…after the wedding, is one of the most fun chapters of all!
3. Larsens Photography is amazing. They did not miss a single detail and were so quick to turn around our photos. We would recommend them to anyone!
Thank you Maile for sending your beautiful images of this gorgeous wedding my way, and congratulations Courtney & Andrew! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!
