Stefani & Jason’s Enchanting and Fanciful Elvish-inspired DIY Wedding
Welcome to another week of funky wedding inspiration dear Poptastic Brides (and Grooms)! I’m still on a high from watching The Hobbit last weekend — hubby and I have been waiting to see it all year! — plus with Christmas around the corner, magic is in the air so I thought it would be perfect to kick off this week with an enchanting and fairy tale-like elven-styled wedding in a quaint woodland setting.
Lovely couple Stefani and Jason had a tight budget and only 9 months to plan their celebration so they handcrafted almost all their decor, from the moss-covered baskets to the wedding cakes which they baked and decorated the night before! The table centerpieces consisted of an assortment of bottle vases with wild flowers, dried leaves & twigs, and photo frames inserted with handwritten passages on fae, wizardry, and magic.
If you think the bride and groom look familiar, that’s because I featured their sweet Farmer’s Market e-session last month and now I’m delighted to share their wedding, again through the always-gorgeous photos of Chelsea LaVere / Bit of Ivory Photography (see her previously featured work). Please enjoy!
Isn’t everything jsut so dreamy and beautiful? The lovely Stefani sums up her wedding in a few words:
Our wedding didn’t have a theme to begin with, but as planning went along it eventually coalesced into an elvish inspired DIY. With a tight budget and only 9 months to plan, we couldn’t go all out crazy with the decor, so we just had little nuances here and there–moss covered tables, flower garlands hanging in the trees, mushroom fairy rings. We made and bought all the decor (even cleaned my cousin’s yard of her magnolia leaves), and baked our own wedding cakes the night before the big day!
We believe it turned out magically, and couldn’t have accomplished it without the help of our much loved family and friends.
Huge thanks to Chelsea for sending her beautiful photos this way, and congratulations Stefani and Jason! Here’s wishing you a lifetime of happiness together!
