Style Inspiration for A Winter Wedding in the Desert
Happy new year dear readers! I’m back from spending Christmas and the rest of the holidays with each of our respective families and guess what, hubby and I also celebrated our 9th (!) wedding anniversary! Yup, we got married two days after Christmas because we wanted our anniversaries to always fall on a holiday. 😉
So anyway, I’m back with a fresh batch of fun and funky non-cookie-cutter wedding ideas for all of you to take inspiration from… starting with this gorgeously styled winter wedding with… what? No snow? No fur coats? Uh-huh, it has none of the wintry trappings because not all places in the world experience cold winters, am I right?
Styled by Modern Revival’s Shannon Sadik, a vintage prop renter and stylist, this stunning winter wedding in the desert was photographed and sent in for you to enjoy by Tosha Pascuzzi of Aquarian Photography.
Tosha shares the inspiration behind the shoot:
Winter is the ideal time for a wedding in the cool gentle climate of the Southwest and this novel winter wedding is for brides who live and love in the Southwest. True to the rich natural beauty of the desert is the unusual Superstition Mountain Museum setting which Museum manager Norma describes succinctly: “There’s just something about this area that feels so welcoming; it’s like the mountains are wrapping their arms around you.”
The simple white chapel and adjacent, rustic barn tuck beautifully into the colorful folds of the dramatic Superstition Mountain range painting the background, providing a unique vintage wedding setting highlighted with the warm woods, neutral tones, animal hides, and plants indigenous to the country’s deserts. The cotton balls and greenery gracing the bridal table were plucked straight from the earth to complete the perfect rhythm of this unique desert-styled wedding!
Thank you for sending this beautiful and unique desert winter wedding my way Tosha! 🙂
