April & Manny’s Modern, Chic and Artistic Architecture-themed Wedding

Remember April and Manny, the Filipino architect couple whose fantastic Architecture and Construction-themed Engagement Session was featured here some months ago? I’m excited to finally share their wedding which was just as artistic, unique, and true-to-their-personalities as that shoot. The creative duo specifically chose ceremony and reception venues that boast impressive structure, minimizing the need for decor and at the same time reflecting their shared passion for the artistic. They also peppered their wedding with elements in gray and blue that were cohesive with the architecture motif.

We have Joel H. Garcia Photography to thank for the gorgeous photos on this spread. Please enjoy!

As mentioned earlier, you’ve already met April and Manny through their equally artistic e-session feature but to help jog  your memory, the lovely April is here to tell us more about herself and Manny + how they made their wedding completely their own:

Manny and I were classmates for 5 years at the University of Santo Tomas where we took up Architecture.  We have known each other for 11 years but have only been together for 4 years before we got married.  We are both licensed architects and we work in one of the top architectural firms in the country.  We both love architecture and photography.

* side note: the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines is renowned for the excellence in their architecture program, among other courses. My husband’s brother and his wife who are currently residing and working  in Singapore went to the same school. :)

Since we are both architects,  we chose a church and a reception place that has an architecture that we love.  Our decoration is the architecture itself.  We only had to use minimal decorations in the church and reception.  We also chose gray and blue colors which I think reflects our personality.

These couple portraits are just stunning!!!

Almost everything was connected to our profession.  From the church & reception up to the details like our cake, invitation, bride’s bouquet, groom’s boutonniere,  menu card, etc.  We also did lots of DIY stuff like the invitation, wedding cord, thank you cards and some of the decor.  Our wedding pictures also show the beauty of the architecture.

How beautiful and well-thought-out was this celebration? I love the fact that the venues they chose completely reflected their passion in architecture, leading to minimal fuss when it came to thinking about their details. And now April’s back with a few words of advice for you who are still in the midst of wedding planning:

Enjoy your day and let go of the small things.  Just feel and share the love!
