Teresa & Chris’ Simply Chic and Modern Red, White & Black Wedding
Happy Monday everyone! Kicking off another inspiration-filled week is Teresa and Chris’ lovely urban wedding at the modern The Clayton on the Park. I just love the simple, clean & chic red, white and black details and we are also treated to bonus super-fun portraits in front of the iconic Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture in downtown Scottsdale.
Please enjoy the beautiful natural-light photos courtesy of Jill Lauren Photography who has a few words to share about the event:
Teresa and Chris’ wedding was perfect. A few of my favorite aspects of their ceremony was the Bell Ringers and the light throughout the building. Having such a fantastic group of Bell Ringers for their wedding really set a wonderful mood. Teresa’s bouquet was so dynamic…I love the red and green dynamic. Being in such close proximity to the famous LOVE statue in Scottsdale made for some really fantastic shots. I could just feel the love that Teresa and Chris have for one another. Their wedding day was romantic, beautiful and intimate. They are kind and caring people and a fantastic couple. We were so privileged to be able to work with them.
And here’s the lovely Teresa to tell us more about her and Chris and their special day:
My husband Chris and I met about 6 years ago. He was in the Marines and stationed in San Diego. We had a long distance relationship for a few years and he was gone for a year in Iraq. When he left the Marines, he went to school at ASU to study anthropology. We got married a few years later.
I would describe our wedding as modern and simple. We did not have a theme, but everything was modeled after our colors of black, white, and red. I loved that our wedding venue was something modern and out of the ordinary in a beautiful park location.
The best way to describe how me made our celebration ours was by being simple. For my shoes, I wore sparkly Toms and all my bridesmaids had sparkly red Toms to go with our colors. I liked that things weren’t over the top so the focus of the celebration could be us. We choreographed a dance for our first dance to a song (“Ours”) by one of my favorite artists, Taylor Swift, that I thought perfectly described our relationship.
(I just LOVE this shot… don’t you? )
Some advice and parting insights from the bride:
Don’t get too stressed over the planning stages. There is a lot to be done, but everything will fall into place in the end. The most important thing is all the family and friends that are part of your big day. Your wedding day will go by in a blur, so take a second to enjoy the day and everyone around you.
Thank you Jill for sending your beautiful photos of this wonderful wedding my way, and congratulations Teresa & Chris! Wishing you guys a lifetime of married bliss.
