Audrey & Chris’ Punk Rock and Edgy Mr. & Mrs. Smith-inspired TTD Session
Today we have a Mr. and Mrs. Smith / outlaw-inspired trash the dress session that’s about as edgy and punk rock as they come because (1) the couple, Audrey and Chris exude rock and roll charisma just by, you know, standing around in their wedding attire. If you think they seem familiar, that’s because I also featured their stunning red and black wedding two years ago. Reason number (2) is that the stunning images are by none other than Poptastic Bride fave Imagine Photography (check out all their previously featured work). Here’s husband and wife photo team Jason and JoAnne with the back story on this session:
We actually approached the couple with the idea, and teamed up with Melissa from Amelia C. and Co Hair and Makeup Artistry to put it together. We had been talking about a TTD with this couple pretty frequently since their wedding where we all became fast friends but not too long post-wedding they moved to Palm Desert from Las Vegas, which made it a bit more challenging to get it together. At one point we discussed shooting at the Salton Sea, but when the opportunity and idea blossomed (courtesy of some brainstorming sessions between Amelia and us) into a bit of an “outlaw” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” type shoot with guns and a killer 1962 Lincoln, it felt as though it was meant to be.
As you know, guns are very controversial right now, and we wrestled with the idea quite a bit. In the end, art is art, no matter how controversial, and JoAnne and I — along with the bride & groom — felt comfortable with creating great art that fit the personalities of all involved. We’ve never seen anything done like this, it’s about as punk rock as a TTD can get, and I’m glad we were part of it.
You’ve already met the beautiful couple via their rock ‘n’ roll wedding but just to refresh your memory, Chris is a well-known rock musician and Audrey is his lovely wife. The two met while living in Las Vegas and have never looked back. Baby number two is in the oven so they’re well on their way to forming their own four-piece rock band someday!
Thank you once again to Jo and Jason for sending their spectacular images of this awesome shoot my way! Congratulations on baby #2 Audrey and Chris! 🙂
