Vaso & Tim’s Intimate Alternative Chic Wedding and Photo Shoot

Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe that we’re almost halfway into 2013? When I started this blog in 2010 I wasn’t at all sure that I would have enough content to sustain this blog but thanks to awesome submissions like what you’ll be seeing in a bit, fortunately we’ve made it this far. 🙂

Vaso and Tim are about as rock and roll as you can get. They had a small, family-only wedding at a Vegas hotel and they went clubbing for their “reception”; a motorcycle was their “getaway car”; and they got matching tattoos with their wedding date on their legs! Oh you’ll get to see those super cool tattoos in a bit but before anything else, I’d like to turn you over to Courtney and Michael Lichtenwalner of Mike L. Photography who took the GORGEOUS photos you’re looking at on this page (and who also brought us the awesome bowling wedding I featured last year). Here’s Courtney with a few more words about the event:

Vaso and Tim were married at the Stratosphere but because of super strict casino rules, we weren’t allowed to shoot the ceremony. So after the I Do’s, we were able to steal the couple for some time with the two of them around town. We love going to locations that other photographers cringe at…it makes for something different and fun. We also made sure to grab photos of their matching tattoos — that was one of the first times we have gotten the groom to take his pants off, haha!

Let’s get to know the beautiful couple a little bit better. Over to you, Vaso!

My name is Vaso I’m 24 and work at Costco. My husbands name is Tim, 24, and he is a Welder. I am very family orientated and don’t have too many hobbies. Me and Tim both really like fishing and doing archery. We also really enjoy bike rides and walks in the summer. We are from Winnipeg so it’s very very cold here, -40 in the winter.

Their wedding’s theme?

Fun! We came to Vegas to have a fun day with our Family. Got married at 2p.m on top of the stratosphere then took a couple family pictures then me and Tim went off by ourselves for some of ours alone. We had a funny little dinner at Joe’s Restaurant and Caesar’s Palace. Then we hit the Club for a VIP night at Pure. Family were the only people invited. Our Moms, Dads, 3 Sisters (2 mine), my brother and all four of their significant others.

As Courtney explained earlier, they couldn’t take photos of the ceremony so we’re heading straight to the photo shoot!

What they did to make their wedding their own:

My shoes were hand painted customized shoes and Tim had rented a motorcycle, and as obvious as it is we got married in Vegas. We also had super cool photographers! Mike and Courtney added a lot to that day.

How awesome is it that they got matching tattoos with their wedding date on their legs?

And now for some words of advice:

Do things the way you want. Me and Tim wouldn’t change a single thing. We chose what we wanted to do even though it wasn’t what everyone else wanted it to be like.
