All-American 4th of July Backyard Wedding Inspiration Shoot
Exactly a year ago I shared Thea & Ian’s sweet & cozy 4th of July “Backyard BBQ” wedding which I know you all loved. Today we have even more All-American wedding inspiration in the form of this beautifully-styled shoot sent in by Tara Liebeck Photography.
At first glance I actually thought it was a real wedding because the details are just so impeccably thought-out and wonderfully executed. The models happen to be a real-life married couple too, which explains the chemistry between them. There are loads of inspiration in this shoot — from the bridal party’s adorable red, white & blue chevron outfits (that flower girl is so cute!) to the witty signs accompanying the tasty treats (“Bye Bye Miss American Pie” pie and “Oh Say Can You Sip” tea). I hope it inspires you when designing your own July celebration. On to the eye candy!
From here on out, Tara will be taking us through the inspiration behind the shoot as well as how they executed it:
The idea for having a 4th of July wedding came about when my friend, Jamie Howell and I started talking about styling a shoot or wedding. We thought how neat and different it would be to see a backyard red, white and blue wedding, and then we thought we would bring a 4th of July wedding to life, and we ran with the idea!
We knew we wanted a backyard, low key kind of feel for this wedding, so we began searching for the perfect venue. We also knew we wanted to have string lights to light up the tables and reception area! Stage Right lighting did an amazing job with this!
We had an already married couple to model for us as the Bride and Groom, so we could have that intimate feel we were looking for, and the bridesmaids and groomsman were also couples.
All the pinwheels were DIY, the flower girls dress was handmade from an Etsy.com shop, and our gorgeous Justin Alexander Lace dress was from our fabulous friends over at Maya Couture. When we thought of a backyard, DIY wedding, we imagined a lace gown, and the Justin Alexander we used tied everything together!
Our inspiration came from all over the place! From not wanting a ton of flowers for centerpieces, but rather some fun, colorful sea food and beverages instead to bring the table to life! We wanted this wedding to scream American Spirit!
