Andie & CJ’s Sweet and Candy-Colored E-session in a Carnival
Carnivals can bring out the kid in anyone so it’s proven to be a fantastic venue for engagement shoots, as evidenced by our previously featured carnival e-sessions and, as you’ll see today, Andie and CJ’s photos in a Duncan BC Carnival! I just love how playful it is and the candy colored surroundings certainly added a whimsical flavor to the entire shoot.
We have Nichole Taylor Photography to thank for this delightful submission and here she is with a few details about the day:
I had a ton of fun at the carnival shooting the engagement session for CJ and Andie! This session was the inspiration of their wedding planner, Blue Lily Events. They played games, enjoyed the rides, and of course some cotton candy! Eye catching colours were throughout the carnival and we took advantage! Vintage clothing was provided by Rockabilly’s, which gives this shoot a vintage carnival theme. Hair flowers and bouquet were provided by Platinum Floral Designs.
Don’t these two look like they were made for each other? I have the lovely Andie here to tell you more about how she and CJ got together:
Do you believe in fate , how one path leads you to where you are meant to be ? Well I am from Zimbabwe in Africa and I came half way around the world to meet the love of my life. I worked with C.J.’ s sister at a private boarding school, where she always used to say, ” you should meet my brother ” . I am not one for set ups or planned dates so I always put it off and likewise for him, but a year later we finally met and the rest is history.
We got engaged on the Zambezi river in Africa where I have grown up , it could not have been more perfect. The African sun was setting, hippos all around us, fish eagles soaring above us and sipping on a gin and tonic. He popped the question. It was a dream come true.
Let’s get to know Andie and CJ a little bit better:
I am a teacher at a private boarding school on Vancouver Island and C.J works in Criminal Justice in Victoria. We are both fun loving people who enjoy having a good time. We enjoy trying new restaurants and pubs and entertaining people at our house. This carnival was an ideal place to capture our characters as we love trying new things and enjoy the novelty and atmosphere.
To our detriment we are always keen for a challenge and don’t shy away from a chance to do something fun and crazy .
We are getting closer to the big day and I can’t wait to start this incredible new chapter in our lives with my best friend .
Thank you Nichole for sending your beautiful photos my way, and congratulations on your engagement Andie & CJ! Here’s to a happy forever! 🙂
