Quaint and Quirky “The Night Circus”-inspired Wedding Shoot
“The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.” In Your Shoes Event Design & BG Productions put their creative minds together to come up with the theme and overall styling of this photo shoot that was loosely inspired by Erin Morgenstern’s “The Night Circus.” A lovely remodeled tobacco barn and the surrounding grounds at White Chimneys venue served as the perfect backdrop.
I’ve been waiting to share this amazing inspiration shoot the moment I received it from Cathie Berry-Green (of BG Productions – see their previously featured work here), but before I leave you with the eye candy, here’s Cathie with a few more details:
Black and white stripes give this circus a darker twist which can be seen in the dramatic linens by Gala Cloths, stunning cake by Cakes and Candies by Maryellen, and even in the appropriately themed wedding stationery provided by Little Woman Design declaring the “Nuptial Spectacular.” Striking centerpieces by Kati Mac Floral Design along with an array of fun vintage items from Lovebirds Vintage Decor of PA helped to create the lighthearted feel of a circus while still maintaining a mature look. This can also be seen in our bride and groom. Our bohemian style bride with the perfect dress by PBC Bridal Loft, flowing hair, and tasteful make-up by Headrush Hair Designs LLC appeals to the more serious side. Our groom complete with suspenders, an elephant bowtie, black and white striped socks and plenty of tattoos brings out the fun. Very “Like Water for Elephants” yet the darker side of “the Night Circus”.
I chose to edit this shoot using two different styles to show a styled theme such as this could match many styles. The soft, matte finish appeals to those more interested in a vintage, artistically edited wedding with all the cool vintage aspects we used for this shoot while the bright , bold edits show the fun, energetic style of a circus themed wedding!
Did you enjoy this shoot? There’s more! Here’s a bonus behind-the-scenes video for you:
