Jennifer & Randy’s Chic and Modern Navy Blue and Purple Wedding

edmonton wedding

Happy Friday everyone! Jennifer and Randy’s wedding is filled with serious eye candy in the form of cohesive navy blue & purple elements that clearly show their impeccable elegant tastes and meticulous attention to detail. It comes as no surprise too since the lovely twosome are artistic types — she’s a graphic designer and he has an engineering background. As a designer myself, what attracted me most was the stationery that Jennifer designed — I just love how she incorporated thoughtful personal touches into each of them, from the favor tags to the menus & table numbers. You’ll see in a bit, 🙂

We have Rina and Anthony Chan of Infused Studios to thank for the gorgeous photos. Here’s what Rina had to say about the event:

Jennifer + Randy’s wedding was a beautiful blend of creativity meets practicality! Jenn’s designer background added personal touches through her design of the stationary elements & table numbers, while Randy’s engineering background meant all the details were, well, perfectly executed!

How they met, in Jennifer’s own words:

Randy and I actually met years before and would sometimes run into each other at gatherings. It wasn’t until Randy’s brother’s wedding that we really started talking to each other. We lived in separate cities at the time but eventually Randy made the move here and we’ve been together ever since.

The lovely bride on their wedding:

We didn’t have an overall theme for our wedding but we decided early on that we wanted a fall wedding and that we wanted our colours to be navy blue and purple. It was very important to us to be surrounded by close family and friends so we decided to get married at the church I attended growing up and looked for a venue that suited the intimate feel we wanted, well as intimate as can you can get with 120 guests!

What made their wedding uniquely theirs:

As a graphic designer I was excited to custom design all of our stationery which we put together with the help of family and friends. Actually family and friends played a big role in our wedding celebrations which helped make it feel like “us”. At our church ceremony we had a Filipino choir sing all the hymns and we incorporated certain cultural traditions into our ceremony. For our reception a generous friend baked a selection of lemon and salted caramel cupcakes that were displayed along with the other treats on the candy bar for our guests.

(I just love how creative and personal their table numbers are!)

We had a candy bar with a variety of candy that we bought from different places.

Jennifer’s favorite moment:

I thought long and hard about my favourite moment and to be perfectly honest I don’t really have just one favourite moment because the entire day turned out better than we could have ever imagined. But if I had to pick just one, it would be later in the evening when both Randy and I were on the dance floor and I looked around and saw everyone dancing around and having a great time. As much as our wedding day was about Randy and I, it was really important to us to have our closest friends and family celebrate our marriage with us.

Randy’s favorite moment:

My most memorable moment of our wedding day was actually at the very end of the night. The lights were all turned on and the music had stopped and I remember Jenn and I sitting together at the head table while everyone was tearing down the room and thinking to myself that all the hard work we had endured for the past year was all worth it. It was like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. I was sitting next to my beautiful wife with, I am pretty sure, the biggest smile I have ever had in my whole life and I remember thinking “life is damn good right now”. I remember feeling like I was on top of the world and was so happy to have shared it with all the people we love, and to have done it with the one person I love the most.

Advice from the newlyweds:

Your wedding is definitely a huge milestone for the both of you which involves a lot of planning and work. But at the end of the day, it’s about celebrating your love for each other in whatever way works for the two of you. So enjoy the day, be present for every moment and you won’t have any regrets!

Thank you Rina and Anthony for sending this beautiful wedding my way, and congratulations Jennifer & Randy! I wish you guys a happy forever. 🙂
