Sarah & Kevin’s Creative Crafts-filled Corks and Cameras Wedding

I’m glad you made it to the end of the week with me because I just know that you are going to LOVE today’s featured wedding.  Sarah and Kevin’s celebration had tons of creative crafts and well-thought-out handmade elements, which was surely no surprise to their guests as Sarah is a photographer and art educator. They centered their theme around cameras and corks to reflect the bride’s passion for photography as well as both their love for wine. Cork-filled table centerpieces, little chocolate camera favors, and shrinky dink vintage camera wine charms were just a few of the quirky DIY details that tied their theme together… the rest you will find out in a bit.

We have Paige Winn Photo to thank for the delightful photos and here’s what she had to say about the event:

Sarah and Kevin had a beautiful St. Louis wedding with some fun details. Camera shaped chocolates, a nod to Sarah’s background as a former photography student and now art education teacher. Tons of DIY details –  Sarah really put her heart into the details and it shows!

About the lovely couple in their own words:

Kevin and Sarah have been together eleven years…that’s right, eleven years! They currently live in the St. Louis area. Kevin works for a company called Medela. Sarah is a doctoral student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis working on a PhD in education and also a working photographer. They enjoy traveling, do it yourself home projects and spending time with their two boxer pups, Bentley and Martin.

What made Sarah & Kevin’s wedding truly their own:

Corks and cameras was the theme for this bash! Both the bride and groom enjoy a good glass of wine and Sarah has an extensive vintage camera collection provided her  background in photography. Sarah attempted to bring two loves together harmoniously in one day. Besides the few flower arrangements and bouquets, everything was handmade by the bride. From quirky cork filled centerpieces, to chocolate camera favors, to a polaroid photobooth, to shrinky dink wine charms for each guest, this was a true DIY wedding!

Kevin and Sarah kept their guests in mind throughout the planning process. They wanted their family and friends to feel completed spoiled. From the trolley transportation that towed them from place to place, to the caricature artist, to the favors distributed throughout the day and evening, their guests were happy campers.

Advice from the newlyweds:

If you are a DIYer like Sarah, make sure you start assembling materials far, far in advance. Sarah’s goal was to have everything finished and put together one month prior to the wedding. Sarah spent this month enjoying time with her soon-to-be hubby and family. It was a relaxing way to gear up for the big day and insurance that both bride and groom were well rested and ready to party!
