Angie & Juan’s Sweet Sun-kissed Vintage Travel-themed Picnic E-session
Angie and Juan have been together for 13 years — isn’t that awesome? — and are planning a destination wedding to Puerto Rico. Florida-based photographer Julie Paisley, along with the couple, thought it fitting to incorporate a travel theme into their picnic e-session so they brought along an array of vintage maps, a glove, huge balloons, and other travel themed props for fun. The result is this dreamy set of images that beautifully captured the couple’s love to a T. Please enjoy!
About the lovely couple + how they met, in Angie’s own words:
I am a registered nurse that works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph Children’s Hospital. My husband is a firefighter in Tampa, FL for Hillsborough County Fire Department. We both share a love of traveling, enjoy spending time with our family, trying new restaurants, laughing and being silly!
Juan and I met at a very young age as we attended the same church our family attended and had the same group of family friends. We started dating at the young age of 16 and he was 14. We endured everything a young couple could possible endure as we dated for a total of 13 years. From the death of Juan’s father, to happier events such as family gatherings, holidays, vacations together, and of course the up’s and downs of just being a young couple and trying to fit school and life in between. We both knew early on that we just were meant to be, and when you know, you just know. We are each others best friend and we relied on each other to get through life’s trying lessons. After Juan graduated fire academy in June of 2012, the same exact day I had planned a party in congrats to his achievements of becoming a firefighter. I had planned it all to the very last detail and to my surprise Juan had done a little planning on his own. At around 7:30 that evening as guests were finally starting to settle in a very unexpected fire alarm had been pulled at the clubhouse where the gathering was happening. I was livid! (Little do you know, at that same place a year earlier his younger cousin had pulled the fire alarm at this clubhouse and it was a huge ordeal.) Everyone in the entire party evacuated. Within minutes all I heard are sirens blaring from the distance as a huge red firetruck came with lights and sirens on to “put out” what they thought was a fire. As three firmen jump out of their truck carrying signs saying , ” Angie …will you… marry, and Juan was on one knee holding the “me” sign. Of course after all the crying and the entire party screaming in the background I said, “yes!”
What made their e-session unique to them:
The e-session was awesome, we had planned to have a destination wedding in Puerto Rico so we had talked to Julie about having a themed session as a little preview to our guests. I had tied a few ideas into our session such as incorporating one of our wedding colors (pale aqua) having an outdoor session so that you can see our personality, and the big 36 inch balloons! Julie and her amazing assistant were awesome! They incorporated a vintage map to showcase the rings, Julie let me borrow her vintage suitcases and we just had FUN!
Many thanks Julie for sending your gorgeous photos my way, and congratulations Angie and Juan! I wish you two a happy forever. 🙂
