Shannon & Luis’ Amorous and Sultry Day After Session
Today’s featured trash the dress photo shoot is filled with sweet, tender moments between newlyweds Shannon and Luis… but wait. it gets a little steamy towards the end.
We have the always-fabulous JoAnne and Jason Marino of Imagine Photography (see their previously featured work + BTL interview), who braved the freezing waters of Oak Creek in the name of awesome photography, to thank for the stunning images. I just knew when Jason told me they had an amazingly sexy shoot for me to feature that the photos wouldn’t disappoint.
About the couple, in Shannon’s own words:
Luis is an Arizona native who came to Phoenix to pursue a dream career as a musician. He had just joined a heavy metal band, released an EP, and was training for his first of many world-wide tours when wee, literally, ran into one another. I was an avid runner, a full time medical student, and had trekked across the country from Florida to go to Naturopathic Medical School. I’m originally from New Orleans, and couldn’t have met a more seemingly opposite counterpart running in the park, at 5:30 in the morning on a July day in Phoenix.
We met for early morning runs in the park every day thereafter for about a week, before finally going out to get coffee, lunch, and hang for the day. It may have actually been love at first sight. Two years later, Luis proposed on an early morning run in the same park. And 3 years later, we got married in an unconventional ceremony at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona, at the exact spot he saw me and changed course so we could run together.
Luis currently works in IT and graphic design and still has a passion for music, all arts and photography. I work as a physician and enjoy an active lifestyle, writing, and being an activist for animals and food politics. We share a love for their three rescue Chihuahuas, a healthy and eco-conscious lifestyle, running, all things home and design, and are self-proclaimed expert vegan foodies. Our entire wedding reflected our unconventional collective personality, and it was completely fitting to do a day-after, “trash the dress” photo shoot.
About the post-wedding session:
The idea originally came from our photographers at Imagine Photography, and agreeing to go with it was the best decision for us. It was the most fun, unique, and adventurous way to begin our lives as a married couple and everyone who knows us responded as if it was exactly what they would have expected from us with our fun-loving attitudes and appreciation for artistic expression. JoAnne and Jason were fun and easy to work with, professional and knowledgeable, and so incredibly talented that their work exceeded our vision.
Thank you JoAnne and Jason for sending your gorgeous images my way, and congratulations Shannon and Luis! I sincerely wish you a lifetime of married bliss. 🙂
