Meghan & Joe’s Rainbow-Colored Garden Party Wedding
Happy new week everyone. If you’re feeling blue about it being a Monday, then I have a super cute wedding to add color to your day! Meghan and Joe centered their summer wedding around the gerbera flower so you’ll see lots of the cheery blooms — in various bright hues — in the carefully-planned details of their celebration.
Here’s photographer Mary Kate Timbers of Kate’s Lens Photography with the deets:
Meghan and Joe’s day was filled with every color of the rainbow. From the shoes of the entire wedding party, bridesmaid necklaces and flower girl dresses down to the bouquets, place settings and centerpieces at the reception , it was a vibrant occasion with sweet, whimsical details throughout the day! They started the day sending sweet notes to each other while they got ready, then headed out to their beautiful ceremony outside in front of a pond. During the ceremony, a close friend sang and played guitar and they had a lovely sand ceremony under a brightly colored chuppah. Then everyone went in for a fun party, dancing the night away!
From this point on, the beautiful Meghan will tell you all about herself & Joe and their colorful wedding:
My husband and I met in college. We went to Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. We were together for 5 years before he popped the question. We currently live in Norristown, Pennsylvania and I am an assistant buyer for David’s Bridal Corporation located in Conshohocken. I have always had a passion for fashion and have always had a unique fashion taste. My husband currently is employed for his dad in Exton, PA. The company is called Hart Appliance and he is an Appliance Technician. In my spare time you can find me shopping and always looking for the next best thing, while my husband spends time on his boat fishing. Complete opposites thats for sure, but what can you say opposites attract
Our wedding..well the whole wedding was based on the gerbera daisy. I knew I wanted a summer wedding and absolutely love the bright colors of that flower.
I guess if I had to name a theme I would call it “Garden Party”. The colors went with everything from the napkins to the pearl necklaces that each girl were to the matching of their groomsmen’s shoe. I started doing some research and found some pinterest ideas and immediately knew I wanted my girls to have different color shoes! The reason why I picked black for their dresses is because I really do still have a classy side and from the top up I wanted us all to look like a very sophisticated wedding party but as soon as you look down you realize that we came to “party” :).. All my flowers were fake and the blue and purple were dyed to match the color of the shoes. (i hope you can’t tell too much in the pictures)!
I have a very bubbly personality and truly can make everyone smile! Once I picked my “theme” I knew that people wouldn’t be surprised by my choice selection! My maid of honor actually wrote that as part of her speech and it went together perfectly. My all time favorite color is green and initially I wanted all my bridesmaids in green. However, once I picked my color scheme my husband and I definitely needed to be team green!
Another way we personalized our wedding is we did a bridal party flash mob as our entrance. Two of my bridesmaids are actually dancers and choregraphed the whole dance and it was amazing. Obviously the song of the year in 2012 was Party Rock
The biggest piece of advice I can give for any future brides is to relax and enjoy. This day is about you and your husband and nothing else matters. There will be drama in the preparations, but try to get through it and remind people that the day is about you and if you have to be selfish at one point in your life the time is now. Lastly, depending how large your wedding is please remember to take a step back and soak in your day. Watch the smiles, the laughter and remember that memory. It flies by and before you know it its over.
Thank you Mary Kate for sending your lovely images my way, and congratulations Meghan and Joe! I wish you guys a lifetime of married bliss.
