Alexis & Arell’s Offbeat Republic New Orleans Wedding
Going by this photo alone, I’m sure you can already tell that Alexis and Arell’s wedding isn’t of the traditional kind. The twosome got married in a New Orleans entertainment venue last October and their celebration was peppered with spooky glam Halloween-y elements, allowing Alexis’ black & white gown and red lips and nails to fit right in. And of course a quirky NOLA wedding can’t be complete without a second line parade. live music, and colorful mardi gras elements — think masquerade masks, boas, and hats.
We have Molly Blair Richardson of the always fab Blair Bennett’s Photography to thank for this submission. (If you check out their previously featured work, you’ll see some of the other cool NOLA weddings they shot. In fact I was thrilled to learn that they booked this wedding from one of our blog posts!) A bit more from Molly:
The bride, Alexis is actually one of the vendors of her own wedding. She is a wedding planner in Arizona with her business partner Maggie Williams of Beauty and Brains Consulting.
New Orleans is a great place for the off beat bride. Around that time of year is the VooDoo festival and her venue is actually a night club which has some great live shows on a weekly basis. The weather in New Orleans in mid- late October is usually pretty agreeable, still warm, but not horribly sweltering, and at the tail end of hurricane season.
Huge thanks to Molly for sending their beautiful images my way, and congratulations to the couple! 🙂
