Sherri & Todd’s Rustic, Playful, and Relaxed Lakeside Wedding
Welcome to another new week of funky wedding inspiration! Sherri and Todd had a rustic-themed wedding so they had all the pretty country elements — mason jars, wildflowers, burlap… What attracted me to it wasn’t just the creative & well-thought-out details though. Upon seeing the photos, I immediately saw how taken with one another these two are and how much their family and friends love them. Like I wrote in my submission guide, I love featuring weddings that are filled with love, happy smiles and laughter and this one certainly has tons of it, you’ll see. 🙂
We have Marc and Shayna of Amenson Studio to thank for the oh-so-gorgeous photos. Here they are with a little more to say about the day:
A ceremony on Todd’s family lake, where Ivan their dog was the ring bearer. Sherri’s bouquet was decorated with something “old” – her grandmother’s handkerchief and the ceremony was decorated with a beautiful pergola made by the groom himself and blessed with a sweet song two of her bridesmaids sang to her. There was lots of celebrating post-ceremony at the lake complete with a little spontaneous boat ride to the raft! Then a quick stop at Hagemeister Park downtown with the Wedding Party and a surprise adventure on another boat! A reception at Rock Garden full of CELEBRATING and dancing, homemade jam, mason jar wine/beer glasses and DIY centerpieces!!! AND this couple can really tear it up on the dance floor!
Let’s hear about the couple and their beautiful wedding from the lovely bride herself. Over to you Sherri!
Todd and I have been together about 6 years. We love to travel, go camping, take our dog for a walk, play tennis, go snowshoeing, and go for bike rides together. We are also very excited to be expecting a baby May 9th!
Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect, including the weather! By far the best day of our lives so far! We got married under a trellis that Todd made himself followed by such a fun reception with tons of dancing.
The ceremony was at Todd’s family’s lake and there have only been two other family weddings there. We also had a close family friend for our Officiant so it made the ceremony that much more personal. We also have amazing family and friends that helped us our wedding day. It could not have been more flawless or special.
We had a rustic theme with wild flowers, lace, mason jars, logs, burlap, rocks, and homemade strawberry jam from our garden for favors. We received so many compliments on the theme, jam, rocks for seating and the wild flowers my bridesmaids and I put together. Everything felt very outdoorsy which is exactly what Todd and I were looking for since we both enjoy spending time outdoors together.
Advice from the newlyweds:
Please DO NOT skimp on your photographers! Our photographers Marc and Shayna (Amenson Studio) were some of the best spent money our wedding day. They were so much fun and literally captured every moment. We received so many compliments from family and friends about how fun they were and how great our wedding photography turned out. We absolutely love looking back at our wedding video and photos. The day goes by so fast and without someone capturing those memories for you they would so easily be forgotten. I have heard so many of my friends say they wish they would have spent more on their photographers and it was the best advice that was given to me.
Huge thank, Marc and Shayna, for sending your amazingly beautiful images my way, and congratulation Sherri and Todd! I sincerely wish you a lifetime of married bliss. Good luck and congrats in advance on the little one. 🙂
