Ashlee & Andrew’s Sweet Lovin’ in the Library and Movie Theater E-session
Ashlee and Andrew are fans of Disney and vintage style. Having their e-session in a library built in 1878 was a no-brainer because hello, vintage. Not to mention books, lots of it. Ashlee’s fave film happens to be “Beauty and the Beast” so they were able to find a way to incorporate both her and Belle’s love for reading. Andrew, meanwhile, loves Star Wars so it was only fitting that they shoot the rest of the e-session in a movie theater, complete with popcorn, fruit gummies, and peppermint patties.
Mathy, awesome photo duo Matt and Kathy of Mathy Shoots People, has the rest of the details about this super fun shoot:
Ashlew is comprised of two awesome individuals. They’re both funny and easy to talk to – our kind of couple! We met up for their engagement session at the Peabody Library in Baltimore. Boy this place was GORGEOUS. After wandering around making far too much noise (Kathy actually got shushed by a librarian – checking that off our bucket list) we headed over to The Charles to get some pictures in their various theaters. Ashlew loves movies and we thought this was a perfect idea to showcase one of their favorite thing to do as a couple!:) Plus there was popcorn and candy – so we were definitely in. Also, please note the cat – Raven – she lives at the theater and followed us around the whole time. Kathy is a MEGACATLADY so she thought this was adorable. There was plenty of belly rubs and baby talking – and Ashlew didn’t seem weirded out at all! Haha.
Oh hai! I’m a mega cat lady too so you guys will definitely get to see Raven in one of the photos. Enjoy. 🙂
Isn’t this shot of them just adorable? <3 There’s a lot more to come and from here on I will let the lovely Ashlee tell you more about themselves and their e-session:
I am a sales manager for Marriott, and Andrew is a graphic designer for a higher education online institution. Small world, but Andrew had a summer job with Marriott prior to us meeting, and we often joked that our paths may have crossed at some point in the industry! When we first met I was living near Baltimore, and Andrew was in PA. If it had not been the urging of two friends to join a dating website, we may not have “found” each other. It is funny how life works sometimes as we both were only on the website for a short amount of time before we started talking and making plans to meet.
Andrew and I share similar interests, but are almost complete opposites which works for us. We both share an extreme love of movies, food, and corny jokes. Many of our first dates were spent watching a movie on the sofa, or having long chats over coffee or drinks. I am a total foodie and love to try new restaurants. I also love to travel, and am always looking for new and crazy adventures for us to go on. I have talked Andrew into attending many events with me such as the Color Run and a giant food fight with tomatoes, and going on many road trips together. Andrew on the other hand has an extreme passion for Star Wars, and is more of a home body who loves working on illustrations and designs. We definitely complement each other’s personalities by pushing each other to share in each other’s likes and have boat loads of fun together. Andrew has a new love of cupcakes and travel (he used to be deathly afraid of flying), and I am sharing in his nerd love of Star Wars by going to the Star Wars Celebration in 2015 with him in CA.
I often joke that our first date was the longest first date ever. We were supposed to go to lunch at a sushi restaurant, but when we arrived it was closed! We walked over to the Greene Turtle and lunch lasted almost 3 hours. I was going to head home after that, but Andrew insisted on seeing a movie which wasn’t playing for another two hours later. We walked around town for a bit and visited some shops before the movie started. After the movie Andrew asked, now what? Now what turned into many more dates, and here we are! Andrew says that it was love at first site for him and knew I would be the woman he would marry. I think we both knew after our first date we were meant to be together, and there was no turning back.
We definitely wanted to do something out of the box, and have photos that were reflective of our personalities. Our original locations were outside, but we had to do a quick change to indoor once the snow and rain dashed our plans. I love Disney, and Andrew is quickly becoming equally a huge fan. We are actually taking our honeymoon in Walt Disney World! One of my favorite films is Beauty and the Beast, so we thought it would fun to take pictures in a library to incorporate Belle’s passion of books. I love reading and collecting vintage books so we were able to capture this in our photos. We are definitely a vintage couple, so having our session in a library built in 1878 was our perfect destination. Our second location was at the Charles Theater in Baltimore. This throwback theater is perfect for us as a couple because one of the big things we share are our love of movies and popcorn. We had so much fun being silly in the different theaters, and their house cat Raven followed us around the whole time.
Andrew and I were absolutely thrilled how our photographers were able to capture the vintage vibe we were hoping to achieve in our photos. Our expressions in the photos tells our love story perfectly of exchanged silly looks, endearing smiles, and endless love.
Thank you Matt and Kathy for sending your always-beautiful images my way, and congratulations on your engagement Ashlee and Andrew! I wish you luck with the wedding planning. 🙂
