Jo & Ma’s Pretty Boho Chic Picnic Wedding in Rome

rome picnic wedding

Today I’m sharing a pretty wedding  from all the way in Roma, Italy. Jo and Ma had a civil ceremony at the Santa Maria in Tempulo, a converted church from the VI century. Afterwards they had a portrait session at the Villa Pamphili (one of the greatest public parks in Rome), followed by a fun picnic reception at Vivi Bistrot, an outdoor restaurant inside the park grounds.

This handsome couple is very private which will explain the very few photos with them in it. However they were willing to share images of their beautiful boho chic wedding where all the decor was made by a friend of the bride’s, save for the lips and mustache invitation which was designed by the groom who happens to be a graphic designer.

We have the lovely Luciana Ognibene with Fibre di luce (see their previously featured work) to thank for this lovely submission. Enjoy!

Totally loving the boho chic vibe of this picnice! We have photographer Luci on hand to tell you more about the beautiful day:
The wedding was very informal, genuine and fun. The bride is an unconventional, beautiful woman (she’s got a great sense of humor) and they’re a lovely couple. He is a graphic designer and an artist, also. The civil ceremony was very quick but intense: they were both excited and so were their friends and relatives. The picnic reception gave a great chance to everyone to be relaxed, surrounded by nature and trees, and also have great fun and a great time by dancing and enjoying the outdoor party. The guests were very sympathetic and I remember how they all were eager to hug the bride & groom when we ended the portrait session.
During the party, there were both romantic and goliardic moments. Bridesmaids sang a song for the bride and the groom composed a poem for her (we call it a “sonetto”, a typical roman prosody). The live band mixed sound from southern Italy folklore and everyone was dancing and going wild.
