Kelly & Chris Sweet and Dreamy with an Edge E-session
How’s that for an opening image? The truth is it was so hard to pick a photo from this shoot to start the post with because everything. is. just. too. STUNNING! Kelly and Chris are obviously crazy for one another — it shows in every single shot as you’ll see — and Daniel Lanton with Darkershadesofbrown Photography captured those emotions to dreamy perfection.
By the way, if you think the photographic style looks familiar, that’s because Daniel is also responsible for the fantastic Tim Burton-inspired e-session that I shared last week! Please enjoy.
Before I show you even MORE of these gorgeous photos I’d like you to meet the beautiful Kelly who’s here to tell us all about her & Chris and their e-session:
Chris and I met through a mutual friend of ours. I was bothering my best friend, Krissy, at work one day about introducing me to any cute guys she knew. She showed me a picture of Chris, and I immediately was interested. I had her text him and ask if he was interested in meeting a close friend of hers. She sent a picture along as well and I am pretty sure he thought the whole ordeal was a joke of some kind. He took my number from her, though, and I got a text message shortly after. We talked via text for over a week learning every detail of each other’s life. When we finally met a week later at a bar everything seemed so natural and easy. I remember we went out on a work night for our first date and I was exhausted the next day because we didn’t part ways until 2am. We were inseparable from the very beginning.
Chris and I are huge dog lovers and own two amazing girls — Roxie, a pitbull, and Bella, an english bulldog. Chris has taught me to love all things fast; such as, his motorcycle and convertible. We love going for rides on a nice day and stopping at a diner or for ice cream. Chris loves working on anything mechanical in his spare time. Lately he is often found in the garage working on his Jeep.
Chris and I both love tattoos, which Chris has quite a few more of than me. We love talking about what tattoos we want in the future, and I love that I have such an artistic man to help me with drawing up my ideas. Chris was able to take my idea of an Alice in Wonderland sleeve and make it a reality for me.
We wanted our engagement pictures to reflect our personalities, which I would say are both quite laid-back with an edge to it. The graffiti backdrops we used for our first set were picked by Chris and I love how the bright colors of the graffiti made these photos really pop! Our photographer, Daniel Lanton, brought us to the Steamtown train tracks for our second photo set and Chris and I immediately fell in love with the scenery. Chris’ father has a deep fondness for all things trains and I think some of Chris’ favorite shots were us within the abandoned trains of Scranton. As a third location, Daniel brought us up to his land, which there was an enormous amount of. He had multiple fields with different grass lengths and furniture props here and there.
Huge thanks, Daniel, for sending your awesome work my way again, and congratulations Kelly and Chris! I wish you guys a lifetime of bliss together. 🙂
