Anastasia & Benjamin’s Quirky Lips, Mustache, Bows and Polka Dots Wedding
Pretty Anastasia is fascinated with vintage Hollywood glamour and has been known to sport bright red lipstick; the distinctly mustached Benjamin, as you can see, wears thick-rimmed glasses — hence the prevalence of quirky lips and mustache elements in their celebration. They also incorporated the bride’s love of bows and polka dots and other retro elements into their darling handmade details which were all lovingly DIYed with the help of family and friends.

The lovely bride is here to tell us more about their wedding. Over to you, Anastasia!
Ben and I wanted our wedding to reflect exactly who we are: classy, quirky, and unique. I’m also a huge fan of the 50s/60s, bows, polka dots, vintage, and classic Hollywood glamour, so those factors definitely played their parts.
Generally speaking though, the look and feel of the wedding came from just things Ben and I had decided that we liked and loved. The red lips were reflective of my appearance and the mustache is reflective of Ben. The glasses are reflective of both of us, since we both wear thick-rimmed Ray-bans.
All of the handmade and homemade trinkets at our wedding were made with love by those individuals closest to us, which gave them much more meaning and created a sort of preciousness about them. As far as creations and contributions go, here is a rundown of the who and the what from the wedding day:
Ben and I along with our friend Annie made the paper flowers for the centerpieces. I created the concept and design for the centerpieces
Bow-tie Napkins used at the reception were created and put together by both moms. The aisle bows for the ceremony were handmade by Wanda, Ben’s mom. The bow-ties worn by the men were handmade and sewn by Wanda as well.
The A & B wood letters were spray painted by Ben and my mom Kellie Maxwell, with polka dots painted by Kellie. The Mr. & Mrs. Playter wooden sign was handmade by Kellie and friend
Our Yo-Yo party favors were hand-painted by Kellie.
Ben’s grandmother, Carolyn, gifted us with the most gorgeous handmade quilt!
Big thanks to Ricky for sending his beautiful images my way, and congratulations to Anastasia and Benjamin! I sincerely wish you a lifetime of married bliss. 🙂
