Judging by the popularity of my retro bridesmaid dresses posts in the past, I’m glad to see that a lot of you want to dress up your bridal party in clothes they’ll want to wear again after your wedding. Well guess what I just discovered a new (to me, at least) store that carries the most adorable retro-style dresses and of course I want to share it with you guys! The shop is called Dress 911 and they are based on Canada BUT do ship internationally. I am totally smitten with the dresses on their site. The prints are oh-so-cute (Cats? Bikes? Sugar skulls? Yup they have ’em!) and the silhouettes are timeless and figure-flattering. I’m always on the lookout for fun dresses to wear as a wedding guest myself and these certainly fit the bill.
Check out some of my interesting finds — at wallet-friendly prices too!
Pie Baking Contest Dress, $52.95 < — such a sweet pattern. This dress is perfect for country / rustic / homespun weddings.
Grin City Dress, $64.95 <– for those of you having a Dia de los Muertos wedding, this dress would be PERFECT for your bridesmaids (or even as a reception dress for you!)
Monique retro bicycle print dress – $97.95 < — a bit pricier than the others but hey, who doesn’t love a cute bicycle print?
Denim Loves Lace Dress. $49.95 <– Isn’t this just the most beautiful combination? Love the pop of red against the chambray and ivory.
Cat Tales Dress, $47.95 <– of course I couldn’t resist throwing this one in, you know how much I love cats!
I love how versatile these dresses are, they will surely become workhorses in any wardrobe! You can wear them as they are in a casual setting or in warmer climes, or wear them with tights and a cardigan at formal occasions. All these — and tons more — are available at Dress911.com.

The latest invitation set from Poptastic Bride called “Chalkboard Poster” is inspired by the vintage chalkboards that I’m seeing all over weddings these days! The design is inspired by classic retro posters. The names, dates and wording are completely customizable. As for the “chalk” colors, currently it’s a combination of mint, pink, and white but I can also customize them to suit your motif. Just shoot me an e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
The set consists of a 5″x7″ invitation and a matching save the date card, thank you card, address labels, favor stickers and envelope seals, custom envelopes, postage, table number cards, and a save the date photo card that lets you insert your own photo.
As always with Zazzle, you can personalize everything even without my help! Just fill in the provided text fields with your names and info, order the items, and get it at your doorstep in a couple of days. International shipping is available, 30-day money back is guaranteed.

If you’ve been following style blogs, you already know by now that stripes are HOT this season. I’m seeing it all over Pinterest these days and I may or may not have spent the past weekend digging through my bedroom closet at my parents’ home for decade old striped clothing items that (fortunately) still fit me. Thank goodness they’re back in style and luckily moths haven’t got to them yet.
But I digress. While this blog is never really one to follow trends, I can’t deny that stripes are always fun, chic, and – depending on the size of the stripes — figure flattering. (Yes you read that right. Studies have actually shown that horizontal stripes are slimming, not widening.) I love the simple graphic pattern so much that I did some striped wedding inspiration posts three years ago (part 1: fashion / part 2: details) but because some of the links in the fashion portion might already be outdated by now, I’ve rounded up new merch from my favorite shops ModCloth and zappos.com to get you started on your shopping!
Most of the dresses I picked are sleeveless because, as bridal party wear, they can easily be unified with a solid-hued cardigan or stole in your color motif. (See my post on How to Mix and Match Dresses for a Mismatched Bridal Party Look)
As for footwear, here are some really cute shoes that you can either pair with the striped dresses or simply wear with solid colored outfits as a statement piece.
NOTE: I’ve labeled these as bridal party dresses and shoes but these selections would be great as wedding guest attire — especially for spring and summer weddings — too!
How about you? Will you outfit your bridesmaids in stripes? I’d love to hear what you think!
