Jo & KC’s Bright and Cheery Carnival Engagement

Today we have a fun and playful e-session in a carnival! I love e-sessions where a couple goes on a “date” and then they ask their photographer to tag along because their personalities really shine through — and this one is certainly no exception.

I’d like you to meet the lovable Jo & KC…

So sweet — and, no I’m not talking about the cotton candy! 🙂  We have Texas photographer Kim Hurt of Tilt Shift Studios to thank for the delightful photos you see on this page. Here’s what Kim had to say about the day:

K.C. and Jo wanted a fun, playful engagement session that matched fun and outgoing personalities. We decided to use the carnival at the annual Brownwood Reunion homecoming celebration as our backdrop for evening full of neon lights, carnival games, and cotton candy.

Don’t you just love how fun these two are? The pretty Jo is on hand to tell us about how she and KC got together:

K.C. and I met by fate. Some friends and I went to San Antonio for a girls weekend and left our hotel to walk down the Riverwalk. But we got lost and couldn’t find our way back to the hotel. I saw a cute guy talking to another guy and I told my friends that I was going to ask him for directions. I said my name was Jo and my friends and I were lost, could he tell us where our hotel was. He said his name was K.C. and he didn’t know where our hotel was because he and his friend were from Washington  and they were lost too! K.C. said since we were all lost we should give up finding the hotel and go to lunch together. We hung out the whole weekend, K.C. made me laugh the whole time I’d never had so much fun.
When the weekend was over I didn’t want to go home but I did and K.C. went back to Washington. K.C. and I talked on the phone everyday. I went to visit him in Washington and he came down to Texas and 2 months after we met K.C. told me he was moving to Texas and asked me to marry him!

Now that’s what I call destiny! Hang on because more cuteness is coming your way…

You’ve seen the shoot, now Jo’s back to tell us why they had it at a carnival:

As you can probably tell K.C. and I are outgoing and spontaneous so when we planned our engagement session we wanted to do something fun not stuffy. We talked to our photographer Kim and said we were up for anything as long as it was fun, different, and colorful! Every year in our town they have a festival with concerts and a carnival called Brownwood Reunion. We decided to do a carnival engagement session because it was fun and loud and colorful just like K.C. and I! Kim said we should do it at night so that all the lights on rides would be on. It was great because we didn’t have to pose or try to smile we just had fun!
