Kristina & Adam’s French Quarter Stroll Engagement

Today I’m excited to share with you a beautiful, vintage flavored lifestyle engagement session that took place in New Orleans’ vibrant art and culture-rich French Quarter district.

I just LOVE how Baton Rouge-based MadTight Photography was able to take such sweet, natural moments between Kristina and Adam while capturing the sights, sounds and spirit of the artistic neighborhood. Photographer Kristina Udy is here to give us a little backgrounder on the session:

Adam and Kristina are from Connecticut, but they wanted engagement photos in the city they love to visit and are getting married in — New Orleans! We enjoyed spending time with Adam and Kristina in the Big Easy for their E-Session. They are so in love, and it was such a joy to see them just hangout in the French Quarter’s Jackson Square as we followed them like the papa-paparazzi! (And we just love that she also spells her name with a K!)

Are you noticing a trend on this blog? Yep, I am so loving these paparazzi style couple-on-a-date-while-photographer-tags-along shoots and this one is certainly no exception. You’ll see why right about now.

Didn’t I tell you the photos were gorgeous? Aside from great photography, also included in my checklist of what to look for in e-session submissions is “a couple that’s very much in love”. These two definitely passed with flying colors.  🙂

Lovely Kristina shares the cute story of Adam’s proposal:

It was Christmas Day (well, night)…He told me he had forgotten a gift. It was a tank top and I didn’t think much of it until he simultaneously began to kneel and asked me to turn the tank top around.  On the other side of the tank top, it read “just married” and he began telling me how much I meant to him as a friend and as his girlfriend, and asked if I’d give him the greatest gift and become his wife.  He couldn’t get the words out fast enough for me!

And now, the couple’s here to share why they chose the French Quarter for their engagement portraits:

We wanted to capitalize on New Orleans street shots and life shots – the music, the drinks, the food, the people, the architecture and wrought iron intricacies, the streetcars, the balconies, the shopping, all of the things that “feel” New Orleans.

One of the biggest reasons we love New Orleans is because we have yet to run out of things to do, places to see, people to meet, and new food/drinks to try.  One of our favorite things is to ride the St. Charles streetcar up and back down, stopping for a drink at the Columns Hotel.  Some of our other favorites are the Carousel Lounge piano bar, taking pictures of the houses/buildings in the FQ & Garden District, stopping by the antique shops / art galleries in the FQ, souvenir shopping, the Roosevelt Hotel Lobby and Fulton Street Christmas décor, and of course eating (i.e. beignets in Jackson Square, Arnauds bar at night, reveillon dinners – loved Antoines last year, jazz brunch).
