Veronica & Justin’s Wine Picnic in the Park E-session

wine picnic e-session

As a wedding blogger, I get to see a myriad of romantic photos daily but as you may have noticed in the shoots I choose to publish, it takes a bride & groom that looks genuinely in love to make my heart skip a beat…  and that’s exactly why this shoot jumped out to me the moment it landed in my TBL dashboard.  This snuggly and cuddly picnic in a park engagement session isn’t only pretty to look at, it’s also special because it was a re-enactment of how Justin proposed to his lovely Veronica in the exact same spot!

We have Picturesque Photos by Amanda to thank for the beautiful photos and here she is with a few details about the day:

We did the first portion of the session at Woodward Park in Tulsa, Okla., where the couple was engaged. Then we headed to a field with Jim Krise’s 1949 Studebaker to shoot the second half. The wedding is vintage themed and will be held at the Gilcrease Museum, also in Tulsa, next spring.

Don’t you just love how sweet these two are? I’m delighted to share their story as told by Veronica:

Justin and I have know each other for 12 years now. We went to school together and have always been very close friends. After high school I moved away to California to go to college. I still had family living in Tulsa and would visit a couple times a year. Justin and I remained close friends throughout. A couple years ago one of our good friends from high school was getting married. I was still living in California but of course I wouldn’t have missed it and came back to attend the wedding. Justin and I decided to go together as friends seeing as neither of us would have a date. After the reception he kissed me and told me he’d had feelings for me for years. I was a little nervous about going back to California and having a long distance relationship but he reassured me by saying there is no way we wouldn’t work out and a few months later he ended up driving his truck halfway across country to pack up my things and take me home to Tulsa. We were together for almost a year when he took me Woodward Park for a picnic and proposed.

And now for the story behind the e-session:

The picnic in the park scene for the engagement session was especially meaningful for us because we that is where he proposed so we got to do a little re-enactment.  The old Studebaker is something Amanda came up with to show off our vintage theme that we are wanting to create for the wedding reception. As with the old quilt and lace blanket.
