Gabby & Braden’s Quaint and Quirky Antiquing + Home Life E-session

antiquing engagement session

Today we have a charming e-session that begins with the couple browsing through quirky curios and knick-knacks in an antique store and ends with the two of them (and their adorable kitties) going about their favorite activities at home. You know how much I love lifestyle e-sessions since they show off so much of the couple’s personality and so I was happy to receive this submission from the bride-to-be herself, the lovely Gabby who is getting married to her sweetie Braden later this year! Here she is to share more of what transpired at their shoot:

Our engagement shoot ended up being such a blast! It was different than typical shoots as we wanted it to really reflect who we are as a couple and who we are as people. Our photographer, Nathan Chandler of 40 Nights Creative followed us around doing some of our favorite things. We went to our favorite antique store, brewery, park, listened to records at our home and had a fire in our chiminea in the backyard. The photos turned out amazing!

I wholeheartedly agree and so will you, dear readers, as soon as you see the rest of the super fun pics! Enjoy 🙂

These two are so adorable! Curious as to how they got together? Gabby’s back to share her and Braden’s story:

Braden and I met for the first time around 8 years ago through a mutual friend (a good friend of mine in college went to high school with Braden).  When I moved to Lincoln about 6 years ago, we reconnected and were part of a big group of people who would meet every Thursday for drinks at The Starlite Lounge (it’s an awesome retro basement bar.  Classic cocktails, speakeasy feel etc).  Eventually, we started spending time just the two of us and realized we had an awesome connection.  Our first official date was about 4 years ago when we went out for dinner and to see the latest Star Trek movie.  We had such a blast that night, and have been having a blast together most nights since then.  🙂
Braden proposed to me last May while we were on a road trip through Colorado down into New Mexico.  He proposed on the Rio Grand Gorge Bridge.  It was awesome!  There was a thunderstorm rolling in and the view of the Gorge and the mountains was unreal.  After that, we went and had delicious celebratory tacos and margaritas in Taos and stayed at a really fun and quirky Bed and Breakfast that evening.  It was one of the best trips of my life!  🙂

Seeing their home, it’s easy to tell that the couple really loves antiques and other vintage oddities, which makes their e-session truly reflective of them. Here’s more from Gabby:

I am the manager of a store called Ten Thousand Villages.  It’s a non-profit, fair trade store that gets products from all over the world.  We are working with artisans who otherwise would be underemployed or unemployed.  I love it!  Braden works for a government contractor for Citizenship and Immigration Services.  He comes from a long like of antique dealers and we both love antiquing and junk hunting in our spare time.  Someday we hope to carry on his family legacy! 🙂

The photographer we are working with is AMAZING.  We feel liked we’ve found a new friend/kindred spirit.  His name is Nathan Chandler and his photography business is 40 Nights Photography.  We definitely want to give him lots of credit!!

We are planning a wedding of a similar nature. We are writing our own ceremony from scratch and having the wedding and reception at the groom’s family farm. It’ll be BBQ style and we’ll have a bonfire, yard games, a henna tattoo artist, music, and lots of other fun happening!

Huge thanks, Gaby, for sending in your wonderful engagement session! Happy wedding planning to you and Braden and I hope we’ll all get to see photos of your celebration as well! 😉
