Callie & Patrick’s Sweet and Cuddly Munchkin Card Game E-session in a Playground

Oooooh I have the most adorable e-session for you today! Callie and Patrick started dating after learning that they shared a love for an obscure card game called Munchkin — a spoof of the classic RPG game Dungeons & Dragons — so including it in their e-session was a no-brainer. They staged a mock game in the park then messed around in the playground because, as it happens, they ended up talking on a swing set for hours on their first date. Afterwards they just had to don gear to represent their rival schools, Colorado State University and Colorado University which produced some of the cutest couple shots ever.

We have Liz Hergert of Hergert Photography to thank for the beautiful photos and this super fun submission. Ready? Here you go!

That couple portrait is the sweetest, and how appropriate is that “mate” card? And now I want to introduce you to Callie who’s here to talk about how she and Patrick got together:

My fiancé Patrick and I met through a mutual friend who hosted a 4th of July swing dance party at City Park in Ft. Collins. He and I were the only two single people at the party, so we became buddies for the day. As we got to know each other, we discovered we shared a love of an obscure card game called Munchkin. That was the connection we needed to start dating with the open invitation to “play sometime.”

Here’s Callie with the engagement session’s back story:

We chose to do our shoot in City Park where we met and had several of our first dates. We played games in the park with our friends and I especially loved the swings and slide so we were sure to work them into the shoot. There are also several shots of us playing the card game Munchkin since that is what brought us together in the first place. We finished the shoot in CU and CSU gear because we are famous amongst our friends for being a “house divided.”
