Amy & Jason’s Romantic and Rustic Fall E-session

rustic autumn e-session

The beautiful rustic e-session I’m sharing with you today was shot in the fall of last year, but we all know that rustic e-shoots never go out of season… especially if it’s as cuddly and romantic as this one! I just love how naturally sweet Amy and Jason were in front of the camera.

The gorgeous (film!) photos on this page are courtesy of the talents of Christina Blanarovich of Zen Photography who’s here to tell us about the shoot:

Amy & Jason are adorable. She is in med school, he is in the Army. They are getting married at West Point Academy in NY this June. We met at Stickley Museum in Morris Plains, NJ because it was on the road back for them from West Point (where they were doing a tasting) and Amy’s home in Philly. It’s right near my in law’s house but I had never been there. The place was so quaint and perfect and we had an unseasonably warm January day for the shoot too! Amy & Jason were amazing and so natural even though they thought they were doing horrible! They were patient with me too while I tested out my new toy – a medium format Contax 645 film camera. I am so thrilled with the results and absolutely loved this session!

The lovely Amy is here to tell us all about how she and Jason got together:

I am a fourth year medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. I hope to begin a residency in Pediatric Neurology this June.

Jason graduated from West Point in 2007 and is a Captain in the Army. He is currently stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

We met over three years ago, during my first year of medical school. I had become friends with Jason’s younger sister through medical school and she had also said what an amazing guy Jason was. That December Jason came to Philadelphia with his friends for Army Navy game. We met that weekend and our personalities instantly clicked.

We enjoy running, going to concerts, the Philadelphia Eagles and anything outdoors.

A little back story on their e-session:

I had told Christina (from Zen Photography) that we wanted a rustic, outdoor location for our engagement session. We are getting married at The Thayer Hotel, West Point this June and so the New Jersey location allowed us to complete other wedding planning activities during the same trip.

Anytime Jason and I get to spend time together is amazing since we have always lived apart and the engagement session was no different. Although, I love photography and having my picture taken, I wouldn’t say that either Jason or I are naturals at the whole “having our picture taken thing”. However, Christina made us feel so comfortable and told us to just be ourselves and I think that really worked for us. We could not be more pleased with the results!

Thank you Christina for sending your beautiful photos my way, and congratulations Amy and Jason! Have fun with the wedding planning! 🙂
