Sarah & Hunter’s DIY Pastel Pretty Woodsy Wedding

Just how adorable is that shot of Sarah and Hunter? These two lovebirds had a beautiful garden wedding filled with pastel pretty details despite the rains that day. Whimsical little touches such as Hunter’s roller blade cuff links, Sarah & her bridesmaids’ mint green TOMS,  the quirky cakes, and some handmade details added a personal stamp to their celebration.

We have Amanda and Jonathan Hill of AM Photography to thank for this lovely submission and here’s Amanda some more info about the event:

Sarah and Hunter had a beautiful garden wedding despite the rainy day. We had an amazing team of wedding vendors who worked hard to give Sarah and Hunter the perfect wedding. Everything was just gorgeous! A few of our favorite details of the day were the TOMS worn by the ladies, the beautiful wedding cake, the super cute grooms cake, and the gorgeous bouquet created by Kevin Lawrence of Posh.
The rain stopped immediately after the ceremony was over, so we were able to capture some beautiful portraits. Hunter plays drums (among his other talents), so he played a few songs with the band for the reception. You can tell this couple is truly in love. They enjoy each other’s company, and know how to have fun! We are honored to tell the story of their beautiful wedding day.

From this point on I will let the pretty Sarah tell you more about herself & Hunter and how they made their wedding uniquely theirs:

My husband and I have known each other since the beginning of High School. We were inseparable until he had to move to Indiana for college we then lost touch, but never stopped thinking about each other. Two years ago we connected back through a mutual friend, rekindled, and he has never left my side since. I married my best friend and it was the best decision I ever made, also the happiest day of my life.

My theme was more nature/woodsy themed, I told Kevin and Mark from POSH I wanted to bring the outdoors in and to have a nice natural look. They did such a fantastic job! It rained and we had to execute “Plan B” inside a tent, they pulled it off and it still looked gorgeous. The pictures by AM Photography turned out even better on a gloomy day, the colors really popped.

My husband and I made a sign out of old barn wood that says “Today, two families will become one. Please pick a seat, not a side” so everyone was able to mingle and meet all of each other’s family and friends.

The photo booth with props were a big hit! Our guestbook was full photo booth strips of all the guests with a personal message next to their picture.

We also made our own tree stand for our incredible delicious cake made by Lee Sanders.

A few words of advice from the newlyweds:

I would say to book everything as soon as you possibly can. Obtain a good wedding planner like Michelle Williams, also get to know your “team” (vendors, florists, planner, etc.). It will help you relieve a lot of stress and get comfortable with everyone. They will also get to know you and it will assist them in knowing exactly what you are wanting for your wedding. It is a ton of work and planning for just one day, it will be well worth it in the long run. Don’t stress yourself out, find a good team you are comfortable with working with and let them handle everything (they know what they are doing).
