Amy & Mike’s Rustic Chic Wedding in a Science Museum
Hot on the heels of Monday’s Science-themed Science Museum wedding is another Science Museum wedding — this time, in the Museum of Science and History in Fort Worth. Amy and Mike love the outdoors so they incorporated rustic chic elements in the decor and details — tree trunk slices along with potted succulents and moss for their centerpieces, heart-shaped pieces of wood for guest’s messages (alternative guestbook idea!), and homemade s’mores for favors. A fun and relaxed atmosphere was their aim and thankfully Rachael Lindsy Photography was around to beautifully capture their sweet & happy moments in the very photogenic museum interiors and grounds. Enjoy.
Here’s the lovely Amy to tell you all about herself and Mike and their wedding:
Mike and I share many interests, some of which I didn’t know I would share until he introduced me to them. We are very outdoorsy people enjoying runs, cycling and other non-water sports. Except frozen water, we both love skiing. And of course after those activities we love a good beer and an opportunity to try any new restaurant!
Our theme (sort of) was rustic chic but more than that we wanted a laid back fun atmosphere to hang out and party with our friends and family.
We made our own gifts — s’mores and sopapilla cheesecake in a jar. Actually the cheesecake is a well known recipe of our friend and he made them all! We did not go the traditional route of bouquet toss, etc nor did we do seating assignments, we just wanted all of our friends and family to mix and mingle.
Advice from the newlyweds:
It seems like it’ll never come together, but hire a day of planner and it will . 🙂 Oh and meet all of your vendors personally, when choosing our it was more important we got along with them and they matched our style more than their ratings, experience, price etc.
Huge thanks to Rachael for sending her stunning images my way, and congratulations Amy and Mike! I sincerely wish you a lifetime of married bliss. 🙂
